There is exactly one of this painting. When it sells, it is gone.
No edition. No print run. No second version in a different size. This is the original canvas, painted by hand in oil by a working artist in Türkiye, and it will hang on one wall in the world.
✦ What You’re Looking At
A seated musician, built from flat interlocking planes of color, cradling a long-necked stringed instrument that cuts diagonally across the upper canvas. The figure is reduced to its essentials — a crimson head, two pale almond eyes, hands resolved into simple shapes around the strings — and then the composition opens outward into something larger.
Below the player, a single wide eye floats across a band of emerald green, calm and deliberate, looking straight back at the room. Around it, leaf forms, arrowheads, deep brick reds and black negative space press in from the edges. The longer you stand with it, the more the picture reorganizes itself: what reads as abstraction resolves into a figure, then dissolves again.
The palette does a lot of the work — brick red, terracotta, mustard, deep emerald, coral and cream, held together by hard black contours. Oil laid on thick enough that the brush direction catches the light across the surface. In person, the texture is part of the piece.
✦ Built for a Wall That Needs an Anchor
At 51" × 29.5" (130 × 75 cm), this is a statement canvas, not an accent. The vertical format suits the places most art can’t fill:
- A tall entryway or stairwell wall
- Beside a fireplace or between two windows
- Over a console or a long credenza
- A narrow wall in a dining room or hallway where a horizontal piece would look cramped
The warm, saturated palette sits well against white, limewash, clay, deep green and charcoal, and holds its own in a room with wood, leather, brass or woven textures.
✦ Painted by a Teacher, Not a Factory
The artist is an art teacher in Türkiye who paints alongside their teaching. That matters more than it sounds. Teaching is a discipline of fundamentals — composition, color relationships, how a picture holds together — and you can read that discipline in how this canvas is constructed. Nothing is accidental, and nothing is decorative filler.
This is not studio output produced to a brief. It is one artist’s work, made because they wanted to make it.

✦ Good to Know
An original oil painting is a physical object with a history of its own making. Slight variations in surface sheen, brush ridges, and small irregularities along the edges are evidence of the hand that made it, not flaws.
Hang it out of continuous direct sunlight and away from heat sources, radiators and damp rooms. Dust lightly with a dry, soft brush. Never use water, cleaning sprays or solvents on an oil surface. If it ever needs more than dusting, a professional art conservator is the only safe route.
Your painting ships from Türkiye, crated flat and fully insured for its value.
